Life So Fragile - Putting Things In Perspective

    By Life-Musings.com | October 20, 2008

Have you ever had a near death experience?

I haven’t, although I have done a fair bit of reading about such occurences, and I have to say they are extremely intriguing events.

Or, have you ever been in a situation whereby you thought you were going to die?

To say I have been would be stretching the truth quite a fair bit. But, once, in the process of swallowing some capsules (health supplements), I kind of choked and, for a few seconds, my airway was blocked and I could not breathe.

It was but a few brief moments, so quick that I probably was not able to think much anyway, but I can say that it was an awfully scary experience for me.

Henceforth, swallowing any pill or capsule has never been the same again.

But the event did bring about some good - it helped me put things in perspective.

You know - the petty struggles in life, the meaningless wants and pursuits, the unnecessary worries, et all - I should work harder at chucking them out of the window.

Because they really matter very little. In fact, they often do not matter at all.

Life is really so fragile, it can literally be gone in a flash. Why sweat the small stuff?
